Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy explains how JovialSight Chinese handles information through jovialsightchinese.com. The main site publishes articles and links to tools, learning materials and social platforms. It currently has no active member accounts, on-site checkout or class registration forms. Linked tools and the Fourthwall-powered shop are separate services, even when they use a JovialSight Chinese subdomain.

Email enquiries

When you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and attachments. We use these to respond, handle requests and keep relevant correspondence. Please send only what is needed; avoid identification numbers, passwords and identifiable student records. Students can ask a parent or guardian to help with enquiries.

Hosting, security and search visibility

Netlify hosts and delivers the main site. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser details and request times to deliver pages, diagnose problems and protect against abuse. Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools provide search and indexing reports. Our IndexNow notifications send public page URLs and a site verification key, not enquiry messages, recordings or customer lists.

Analytics and cookies

We have not added advertising trackers or browser-based analytics scripts such as Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity to the main site. This is not a promise that every service is cookie-free: hosting security checks, the shop, linked tools and social platforms may use cookies or similar technologies under their own arrangements. We will review this notice before introducing new tracking or data-collection features and seek consent where required.

Shop, tools and external platforms

Purchases take place in our Fourthwall-powered shop at shop.jovialsightchinese.com. Fourthwall and its service providers handle checkout and related transaction data under the applicable shop policies. We do not export buyer data from Fourthwall or use buyers’ email addresses for promotional emails. Order information may be available within the platform for order-related matters. Linked tools may process text, recordings or other inputs; check the specific tool’s notice before using it. YouTube, TikTok and Xiaohongshu have their own privacy practices. Do not assume every linked tool has the same retention or AI-processing arrangements.

Retention, protection and service providers

We retain enquiry information only for as long as it is needed for the enquiry or a relevant business or legal purpose, then delete it or remove identifying details as appropriate. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Hosting, email and other service providers may process information outside Singapore. Where we arrange overseas transfers of personal data under our control, we are responsible for meeting applicable protection requirements; this notice does not promise Singapore-only storage.

Privacy requests and changes

You may contact us about our handling of your information, request access or correction, raise a concern, or ask to withdraw consent where consent applies. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity and locate the records. Requests are handled subject to applicable law, including relevant exceptions and retention requirements; deletion is not always immediate or unconditional. A parent or guardian may contact us about a child’s information. We will update this policy when our practices materially change.
